What is ASP.NET MVC and when should you use it over ASP.NET Web Forms? This is one of the questions (among others) this session will answer. Attendees will gain an understanding of how to develop modern web applications in ASP.NET MVC and related technologies such as AJAX and JavaScript. Furthermore, attendees will gain a good understanding of when to use ASP.NET MVC vs. ASP.NET Web Forms.

Desc: An in-depth lecture style training to educate attendees about ASP.NET MVC
CODE Training and EPS Software will be holding an intensive 1-day lecture style boot-camp on ASP.NET MVC specifically designed for developers of business applications who wish to learn the latest Microsoft .NET technologies. Attendees
of this class will learn how to use ASP.NET MVC and will have gained an
understanding of MVC to a point where they can start working on ASP.NET MVC
applications. Attendees of this class will also be able to judge whether a
scenario is appropriate for MVC and they will have a good understanding of how
MVC will impact their future development efforts. The training class will be held at our offices in Houston, Texas as well as online via GoToMeeting. After the class, attendees will receive the powerpoint slides, the code samples and videos of each class as reference materials.

Introduction to MVC-style ASP.NET development, including a review of many of the key concepts, technologies, and techniques, such as manual HTML, JavaScript, AJAX, and jQuery, as well as a comparison to ASP.NE Web Forms. |

The Controller-Based Approach This session dives deep into one of the architectural cornerstones of ASP.NET MVC, the Controller. In this session, attendees learn how to create and organize controllers and how controllers orchestrate models and views. This includes conventional controller output as well as AJAX calls to controllers and more. |

Views Controllers drive MVC, but Views are what is ultimately visible to users. This session discusses how to create and organize views (including topics such as strongly types views and partial views). This session also discusses client-side techniques like JavaScript and AJAX topics. This session also discusses jQuery. And of course, this session discusses how to approach view creation and HTML output in general in ASP.NET MVC. |

Advanced ASP.NET MVC Topics This session covers advanced (or otherwise uncovered) topics, such as the model part of MVC (calling services or middle tier objects and how to organize these in a fashion that makes sense not just for ASP.NET MVC but other client technologies as well). This session also covers unit testing in MVC. And it covers topics such as the new Razor view engine. |
