9:00 – 10:15 Building Silverlight Business Applications - Part 1
Introducing general concepts for building business apps in Silverlight. This session provides a very brief review of Silverlight concepts and paradigms. However, the majority of this session is spent on creating a solution setup that works for real-world Silverlight projects (both web sites as well as out-of browser apps). This includes not just the setup of the UI aspects, but also other elements such as view models and access to middle tiers or services (access to data and middle tier objects and services is a bigger part of this one-day class than in the WPF equivalent class). The session creates a real-world setup designed to accomodate business scenarios which involve typical data scenarios (handling of data in view models and also data binding in the UI). User interaction is discussed in detail as well.
10:15 – 10:30 BREAK
10:30 – 12:00 Building Silverlight Business Applications - Part 2
This session is a continuation of the previous session.
12:00 – 13:30 LUNCH BREAK
13:30 – 14:45 Advanced Silverlight Topics
This is also a continuation of the previous 2 session, but with an emphasis on more advanced topics, such as: Asynchronous (multi-threaded) processing, browser integration, Silverlight graphical assets, templates, styles, visual states, and much more.
14:45 – 15:00 BREAK
15:00 – 16:30 Further Silverlight Topics
This session covers topics that went unexplored in previous sessions of the day, such as deployment of Silverlight projects (and performance and bandwidth implications). It covers out-of-browser applications (beyond the discussions eariler in the day). This session also briefly looks as Visual Studio LightSwitch (which we offer a complete 1-day class on). In this session, we also take a brief look at Silverlight development on Windows Phone 7.
16:30 – 16:45 BREAK
16:45 – ?? Ask the Experts / Q&A
Got questions? Got a web application you are ready to build? Ask the experts and hit the ground running!
