Markus Egger Named Microsoft MVP, 23 Consecutive Years
Houston, TX – July 2, 2018… Microsoft named Markus Egger, Founder and President of EPS Software Corp., Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) for his 23rd consecutive year. Out of nearly 4,000 MVPs worldwide, Egger is one of the longest title-holding MVPs (since 1996) in the community, and was the first non-American to receive this prestigious award.
The Microsoft MVP award started in 1990 meant to recognize exceptional community leaders in the technology field. These leaders share their industry experience with others in effort to further community development and help professionals create high quality software. Longevity is not taken into account when MVP nominees are interviewed; previous title-holders must undergo the same scrutiny. Community members, current MVPs, or Microsoft staff may nominate someone for an MVP award. The award may be in a wide variety of categories ranging from Xbox to Visual Developer Team System.
Egger has been named this year as an MVP in the C# programming language. He has previously held the title in Visual FoxPro development. Egger is also the Gulf Coast Microsoft Regional Director (RD).

He has sponsored special activities like local GiveCamps, CodeCamps, TechFest (at the University of Houston), and High Tech Conference (at Lone Star College). He frequently speaks at large industry events like TechEd and DevConnections.
